Mentorship Day Theme:

“Rising with Purpose: Empowering the Next Generation of Kiharu”

🧭 Objective:

To inspire and equip young people in Kiharu with spiritual, career, and life mentorship that helps them grow holistically and make positive decisions for their future.

📚 Target Audience:

• Youth aged 13–25 (can be split into teens and young adults)

• From schools, churches, and the general community

🪜 Full-Day Program Outline:

🕘 08:30 AM – Arrival & Registration

• Warm greetings, name tags, icebreakers

• Worship music in the background (preferably local gospel)

🕘 09:00 AM – Opening Prayer & Praise Session

• Led by youth praise team or choir

🗣️ 09:30 AM – Keynote Session: “You Were Born for a Reason”

• Speaker: Pastor, youth leader, or a local role model (e.g. a teacher, social worker, or civil servant from Murang’a County)

• Key Topics:

  • Discovering purpose

  • Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you… I appointed you”

  • God’s plan even in rural settings like Kiharu

💼 10:30 AM – Career & Skills Mentorship

• Speaker Panel: Local professionals (teacher, nurse, entrepreneur, mechanic, police officer)

• Topics:

  • “Making the most of school despite challenges”

  • “How to start small and grow your hustle”

  • TVET, agriculture, online work

• Activity: Q&A breakout groups by interest

☕ 11:30 AM – Break & Networking

• Local snacks: Mandazi, tea, bananas

• Youth mingle with mentors one-on-one

🧠 12:00 PM – Personal Growth Session: “Building Character and Confidence”

• Topics:

  • Handling peer pressure and social media

  • Self-discipline and goals

  • Role of prayer, scripture, and wise friends

• Proverbs 4:23 – “Guard your heart…”

🍛 01:00 PM – Lunch & Energizer

• Local meal: Githeri / rice & beans

• Group games or music and dance break

• Speaker: Youth counselor or church elder

  • Dating wisely

  • Understanding boundaries

  • Abstinence, values, and future marriage

• Challenge each youth to:

  • Identify one mentor to follow up with

  • Commit to one new habit (e.g., daily devotion, helping at home, studying better)
